A good place to go an get what you need for your floor
Mr. Garrett, his sons, and the employees were very friendly and helpful in the process of selecting replacement flooring. They removed old wood flooring and linoleum and replaced it in a few days. They tried to keep the sawdust and mess to a minimum, which was much appreciated. They moved large furniture (piano, bookcases, desk/hutch, and kitchen island) out of the rooms and then back when the new flooring was in, which was also much appreciated. They replaced a rotten-looking, mismatched, UGLY board–thanks again! Disappointments are (1) some door frames were cut off too high and now a large gap exists between the door frames and the flooring (see photo); (2) some of the hand-finished facings (finished to fine furniture grade) were splintered and broken (see photo); (3) several of the new flooring boards are dented, some down to bare wood--the crew did not bother to put the huge nail gun on cardboard, but plunked it down on the newly installed hardwood every time--such a needless waste and source of customer dissatisfaction; and (4) a piece of furniture in a bedroom suffered three dents (into bare wood), although no flooring was replaced in the bedroom (apparently it was simply too close to the doorway). This was NOT a low-bid job. Suggest a written contingency damages contract if you decide to use this local business.
